Revelation 2:1-5

This text is most of the first of seven letters written to seven churches in Asia Minor, what we now know as Turkey.  They were written by John by divine revelation directly from Jesus himself.  These were seven historical churches at the time of John's writing and the letters dealt with actual conditions of church life of the day. 

Of course, however, God's Word is written to the whole body of Christ for all of history.  These churches, in effect, represent all churches, both in John's day and at any time in the history of the church. 

Can I just tell ya something?  This could be a letter written to you or I.  What if Jesus Christ wrote you a letter today?  If He told YOU what He was pleased with and what He would hold against you, what would that letter say?

If you stop at Vs. 3, you will come to the same conclusion I did.  This sounds like a great church and one that I would be blessed to be a part of.  But the letter doesn't stop there.
